What is "nuF" Stuff? As you know, we should NEVER have FUN at school. Once in a while when we worked really hard during the week and finished all of the important things that we had to accomplish, we would sneak in a little "nuF". (Shhh... Please don't tell anybody, but it is FUN spelled backwards : )
Diffraction Glasses
We were able to experience science with diffraction glasses and share that with a special furry (and human) friend.
What is diffraction? In third grade terms, it is the process where light waves break up into dark and light bands. The cool "shades" we were wearing had little splits in them that allowed for us to see this. The little bands we saw were the spectrum of light. We noticed that those bands reminded us of little rainbows and that the color patterns were the same.... Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, or ROY G. BIV. (If I confused you,, think about what it looks like when light hits a CD. The rainbow pattern that is created is really just diffraction in the works.)We thought the bursts of color were cool. We also thought we looked really cool in our diffraction shades!
