Eat a nutritious breakfast before arriving since kids tend to get carsick when the stomach is empty (Let me know if he/she will need the school to pack a "sack" breakfast for your child)
A packed sack lunch (If your child needs the school to pack one, let me know asap)
A backpack (optional).Electronics(cell phone, tablets, GameBoy type games, etc.), a pillow and/or small blanket is welcome as long as it fits in the backpack.
Two snacks. One for the trip there and one for the trip back. NO sticky/messy snacks and NO drinks are allowed though. If packing fruit, make sure there is a bag to contain the parts not eaten please.
Gift Shop Money (Optional). Students will have an opportunity to visit the gift shop with their group. Although not required, many students enjoy bringing back something from their trip. Students typically bring around $2-$20 and will have their chaperone hold their money for them.
What does your child NOT need?
NO drinks while on the bus. There are no restrooms and few places for us to stop. This is a three hour drive both ways. We will stop at the rest area on I-5 near the Corvallis exit both ways. No other stops are planned.
No binder needed. Save the backpack space for fun stuff : )
No sticky or messy food while on the bus.
No "toys" with parts that will get lost easily or roll around on a bus.
No "irreplaceable" items, The bus will be locked and most items will remain on the bus while we are touring. Although we haven't had a problem with items being taken or broken in the past, I wouldn't want a $2000 camera coming without the parent here to carry it : )

Chaperones
In order to join us on this trip, you will need to complete a background check. This is a district requirement and it takes several days to process, so please send yours in as early as possible. We appreciate our chaperones and count on them to make sure we have respectful, responsible, and safe students so that we can learn and enjoy our time together. Click here to see the letter that explains your responsibilities. (Please note, the list of chaperones will be updated with the current groups at the end of May)
